Tracker

This exists? The ability to track something by gps chip on your phone has gone commercial? And will only be smaller by the time I'm a full grown adult?

Tiny tracker with app

I think I just heard all of my potential future children suddenly cry out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. Sileneced by all the evil laughter in my head.

Vlog

I'm definitely a horror movie fan. I love them. The cheesier the better. And sometimes, the more outlandishly Nightmare Fuelish, the better.

A few years ago I saw this on Break, and I loved the concept of a low budget, serialized horror film. I even hoped that some of my film maker friends who liked the idea would try something like that, but nothing came from the concept.

This is just the trailer, but the whole series is on Break. It's a fun little ride if you don't mind gore and cheap scares.

Games

Because this site is basically a stream of my own consciousness, and I'm a video game nerd, I've decided to write up a little post on all the games coming out soon I'm excited for, in no particular order.

Homefront

The invasion of America is kind of a dark, twisted theme that has been drawing people's attention over the past few years, especially in video games. I want to write up a larger post on just that topic, but for now let me say I am really looking forward to Homefront. The setting is 14 years in the future, where the US has been invaded by the Greater Korean Republic. War torn Home Depots and White Castles make up the set pieces of a story about how Americans would cope with and counter an invasion. This makes for a fascinating study of the American attitude in the light of recent economic turmoil and the rise of foreign powers.

Oh, and you get to shoot stuff. That is always fun

Dragon Age 2

Some of you might be chuckling at the stereo-typical geekiness of fantasy games. The rest of you...I probably used to play D&D with. Yes, it's a fantasy setting, with dragons and mages, kings and dungeons, the works. But to dismiss it on that would be doing it a great disservice.

Dragon Age: Origins, to which this is a sequel, was one of the best Role Playing Games I've ever played. Full of interesting character arcs, fun quests and twists, and a game-play system that invoked feelings of the great classics like Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age: Origins had it all. While somewhat standard, the setting was a fresh and original take on classic fantasy tropes, with some interesting commentaries on race and religion if you care for that kind of thing. Alternatively, you could just say "Fuck it, I can make Werewolves and Elves fight each other. Win!"

The sequel changes the mechanics of the character creation so as to create a stronger storyline for the protagonist, but otherwise holds true to a very successful mechanic.

Portal 2

Oh Portal. What can I say about you that hasn't already been said. If you haven't played the original, stop reading. Go play it. FIND IT. I don't care how, but your life isn't complete. This is gaming at it's finest. Two characters, no guns, and minimal exposition has lead to one of the most creative and deep games out there.

All based around this concept:

Portal 2 is this, but more. And with Co-Op. Brilliance.

That's it for now, more soon.

God damnit Internet! Why do you make it so hard for me to stay out of jail!?

Because I'm the kind of person you should ever let know how to build a model WAR MACHINE.
