Bucket List: Storm Chasing

So did anyone ever see that movie "Twister"? You know, the one with tornados (as if the name didn't give it away).

How cool would it be to do that just once. To literally stare down the worst the Mother Nature has to throw at us, and instead of running and hiding, chasing. I'm not really a weather guy (I'm happiest on sunny, warm days, no clouds in the skies). But there is something about the idea of throwing down the challenge gauntlet to one of the most destructive natural forces that brings out a primal sense of excitment in me.

My lizard brain is somewhat twisted I guess.

They actually do offer storm chasing vacation adventure packages, where they train you and then take you out with experianced storm chasers. And that's pretty awesome because otherwise my chances of surviving this kind of adventure are rock bottom.

But come on, how cool would it be to see this in person?

That seems worth the risk to me.

Total Accuracy

Someone told me to watch this. Turns out it's a hundred percent accurate to how white Arlington is...and DC...and most of Fairfax county...

It's sad when something makes Ossining/Westchester look dangerous

Bucket List: Bungy Jumping

So, I'm going to start going through things that I want to accomplish in my lifetime. My own personal Bucket List. And the first thing I want to hit is a very specific one before I talk about the bigger goal.

I want to go Bungy Jumping in New Zealand.

The idea popped into my head after watching Kevin Rose (Digg Founder and host of Diggnation) do a 440 ft jump on his trip to NZ. The idea of it terrified me.

And as you know, I face my fears, because I'M A JONES. So if it scares me, it's ON.

I'm pretty sure I'd have a heart attack and die during the jump, but fuck it.

I have two locations picked out. The first is Kawarau, the first commercial Bungy Jump location. They give you 3 choices on the jump. It's only 143 feet above water, and is very controlled, so you have the option to either A) jump above the water, B) touch the water, or C) FULL ON DUNK IN THE WATER. Fucking scary awesome shit there, I'm in.

The second jump is Nevis, the 440 monster Kevin Rose tackled. Seriously, it's ridiculous. You need to take a hummer to get out there because there are no roads to the location. Then a tram picks you up and brings you to the center of a huge canyon. FROM THE TRAM SUSPENDED IN THE AIR, you jump.

Basically, this Bucket List entry should just say "Kick my fear of heights in the sack"

Adventure Log: Vegas

So. I've survived my first night in Vegas. I'm not even hung over really. I was up for 24+ hours, my legs hurt from dancing (seriously Jones, why were you dancing?) and I have a headache from the smoke. But otherwise, I'm alive.

Vegas, btw? Epic. Everything is huge, and legal. And the number of women I would do terrible things to here is out of control.

Remind me to make a move today/tonight. Or I'll kill something.

Visual Chemistry

God I suck at updating this. I wanted to get a new lay out, and get a better background...which got held back for the holidays, and then work...blah. Excuses. Yeah.

So, I'm going to just start putting my obsessions here, use this as my own personal notebook. I know each post I make I say I'll do something else with this site, but that's the idea. This is a digital representation of my brain.

So of course it is chaotic, rambling, and has the attention span of a gnat.

Tonight I will finish my redesign. Then, add a post I have in my head. After that, start scheduling my posts. I can do this. Resolutions and all.
